Dear Senior Parents:

Happy New Year!! It is time to refocus on the Class of 2009 Project Graduation Celebration which will be on June 3rd at The Main Event.

I’m happy to report that we are on schedule with our fundraising activities, but more still needs to be done.  We already have funds for the venue and transportation, but we would like to have as many giveaways as possible at the celebration...with a goal that every Senior attending will walk away with something.

We have over 650 seniors, and one way of reaching this goal, again, without too much effort on our part (we could sit back and relax) would be to collect nominal donations!!

If we can get a $10 donation from every family, we are talking about having the potential to raise $6,500.  This could and would top our biggest fundraiser to date and how simple is that!!

So, please click on the donation link today! And, let’s not stop there … please share the donation link with close friends and family members, just think of how much more money can be raised.

We will be accepting donations through May 22, but the sooner the donations are made, the better we can plan for this lifetime memorable event.  In addition, for every $1,000 raised, we will raffle $100!!!  So, every time you donate $10, your name will be entered into the drawing, which we will do and announce via email / phone call on May 29, 2009.

Thank you in advance for your support of the JBHS graduating Class of 2009.

Regards,

JBHB Project Gradation Class of 2009 Booster Club

Wed., Oct. 29, 2008 - Meeting Summary

Dear Senior Parents,

Last night we had a lengthy discussion about Project Graduation. There was an almost unanimous vote for Project Graduation to be held on June 3, 2009. This decision came after much discussion about the
pro's, con's, logistics and cost.

For those of you not in attendance, here is a brief summary of the reasoning behind the decision:

With our June 4th graduation time slot being from 8:30-10:30pm, there was concern about the challenge of finding volunteers to rush out of graduation to get to Bowie in time for set up/check-in with a 12:00pm departure time. In addition, the venue available on graduation night was not as desirable in regards to amenities, location, food and cost.

As stated earlier, Project Graduation will be held on June 3rd, and at The Main Event. All in attendance agreed that the Main Event is a fantastic choice with regards to amenities, location, food and cost.

Please know that our committee researched sites for several months and worked very hard to secure a proper and safe site for graduation night, however, by the time our graduation date was released, most other venues had already been secured by other schools.

Additional details will be posted as they become available.
